April 9 discussion to address inclusive learning environments for transgender students
To respect the identities of transgender students, the Equal Opportunity Office and Registrar’s Office at Western Washington University are facilitating a process through which students can indicate a preferred first name for use at Western.
The upcoming event "" provides an opportunity for faculty and teaching assistants to learn about this process and discuss intentional steps educators can take to make classrooms more welcoming for transgender students.
The event takes place from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in Wilson Library Room 270.
