AS Recycle Center collecting unwanted items for donation to charity

The is collecting unwanted items from students in residence halls during the End of the Year Recovery Drive through June 11. All collected items will be donated to a local charity at the end of finals week.

Blue recycle barrels will be placed in each residence hall to collect donated items. Barrels will be located by the front desk or in the main lobby during dead week. Outdoor barrels will be added during finals week.

Items accepted include clothes, appliances, books, electronics, un-upholstered furniture and other personal and household items. Donated electronics should be placed in indoor donation barrels to prevent rain damage. The Recycle Center will not be accepting carpets, mattresses or upholstered furniture.

The Recycle Center runs recovery drives at the end of each quarter, but the End of Year Recovery Drive is by far the most successful because people are moving out of the halls, said Rachel King, the Recycle Center educator.
