Campus festival April 20 to benefit Japan

A host of Western Washington University students and Bellingham community members are organizing a benefit party for Japan, slated to take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room on campus.

All proceeds from the Japan Benefit Festival, billed as an afternoon of food, art, music and charity, will go to support the relief effort in Japan through Peace Winds America. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food, a performance by the Bellingham Circus Guild and live music by the Endorfins, all while supporting a good cause.

This event is a collaboration of The Acts of Kindness Club, Japanese Conversation Club, Students for Sustainable Food, The Good Vibe Tribe and The Bellingham Circus Guild, among many others. The festival is free and open to the public. Items at the event will be available for purchase, and donation stations will be set up throughout the space.

Student organizers are available to make announcements in classes on behalf of the festival. To request that a student come by, fill out this form or email bodie.cabiyo@gmail.com.
