CBE to honor students at leadership luncheon

Seven Western Washington University students have been chosen to participate in the Leadership Lunch event that will be held Friday, March 8.

The lunch is sponsored by the Whatcom Educational Credit Union.

Western’s quarterly College of Business and Economics Leadership Lunch Program recognizes students who have distinguished themselves through scholarship and leadership while in the college. Students are nominated by faculty in their respective departments.

The selected students include Nataliya Chebanenko, Accounting, Ukraine; Hannah Jones, Management Information Systems, Bellingham; Joseph Meyer, Economics/Environmental Studies, Seattle; Jeffrey Hales, International Business, Ogden, Utah; Emily Price, Finance, Bellevue; Tony Yakovich, Marketing, Woodinville; and Daman Wandke, MBA, Silverdale.

The students will be joined at the lunch by seven business leaders and three faculty members from Western’s College of Business and Economics to discuss topics concerning organizational leadership and career development.

The lunch provides an opportunity for the business professionals to contribute to the educational mission of the College of Business and Economics through interactions with students and faculty.

The luncheon program is organized by the Center for Excellence in Management Education in the college. The Center for Excellence in Management Education provides a variety of programs designed to connect business and industry leaders with faculty and students to promote business and economics education.
