Chemistry鈥檚 Mark Bussell receives the 2025 American Chemical Society Award for Research

Mark Bussell

草榴社区 Chemistry professor Mark Bussell has received the 2025 American Chemical Society Award for Research at an Undergraduate Institution. The award honors chemistry faculty members whose research 鈥渉as achieved wide recognition and contributed significantly to chemistry and to the professional development of undergraduate students.鈥

鈥淚t has been very rewarding to work with 草榴社区 students in my lab on research focused on the development of metal carbide, nitride, boride and phosphide catalysts; these catalysts exhibit promising properties for a broad range of chemical reactions. Undergraduate students have played key roles in advancing this research and are co-authors on some of our most highly cited papers in this area,鈥 Bussell said.

Bussell will be honored with other 2025 ACS national award recipients at a ceremony and banquet in San Diego, on Tuesday, March 25 at the Spring ACS National Meeting.
