Community Invited to Nov. 10 Veterans Day Ceremony at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø

BELLINGHAM – Western Washington University students, faculty and staff and community members are invited to a Veterans Day Ceremony from noon-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10 in
A reception will immediately follow the ceremony. Both events are free and open to the public.
Featured speakers will include ²ÝÁñÉçÇø President Bruce Shepard, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø student and ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Vet Corps Navigator Christopher Brown; ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Student Veteran’s Association Coordinator Jordan Linayao; and Doris Kent, former ²ÝÁñÉçÇø employee and gold-star mother of the late Cpl. Jonathan Santos.
Vet Corps, in partnership with Western's Veteran Community and the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Associated Students Veteran Outreach Center, is holding a food drive starting the day of the Veterans Day Ceremony, and will continue the following week. Please donate only non-perishable food items and/or money. Food will be donated to the Combat Veterans International Food Bank, for the area's homeless veterans. Monetary donations will be given to Western's Veteran Community.
In observance of the holiday, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø classes will not be held on Veterans Day on Thursday, Nov. 11; this is also a ²ÝÁñÉçÇø employee holiday. The ceremony is sponsored by the
