Course to help with project management exam available to the community this fall

Western Washington University's Extended Education will offer "Project Management Certification Exam Preparation," a 10-week course beginning Sept. 25.

Information sessions for the course, which is open to the public, will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Technology Development Center at 1000 F St., and at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, in Academic West Room 203 on Western’s campus.

Course participants will learn key concepts, techniques and practices to aid in obtaining a Project Management Professional or Certified Associate in Project Management certificate. This course qualifies for the 35 required hours of project management education with the Project Management Institute.

Participants will focus on the nine key areas of project management, methodologies, policies and management control that will be required knowledge for the exam. Those seeking certification will go through the PMI to take the appropriate exam.

This course is ideal for people pursuing a career in business or management, working professionals in various supervisory or managerial positions, or anyone seeking career advancement. It’s an interactive combination of lecture, small group activities and practice tests during weekly evening sessions on Western’s campus.
