Cross-Border Visiting Fellow Michael O鈥橲hea Drop-in Brown Bag Set for April 19
Cross-Border Visiting Fellow Michael O'Shea will discuss his research at an informal brown-bag from 10-a.m. to noon on Wednesday, April 19 in Canada House 108.
O'Shea is a doctoral candidate studying under Stephanie Waterman (Onondaga, Turtle Clan) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
His research is centered on Education Mobility and Indigenous Sovereignty.
He will provide insight into several Canadian universities that have recently adopted policies to extend domestic tuition rates to Indigenous students living in (territories claimed by) the United States and how other universities in Canada may follow suit, bringing their commitments to Indigenization and reconciliation in line with the Jay Treaty.
O'Shea鈥檚 visit is co-sponsored by the Border Policy Research Institute and The Center for Canadian American Studies.
