Development underway for Bellingham bicycle plan
The Bellingham Bicycle Master Plan is underway, and the city is looking for input from folks in the community, whether they ride or not.
You can provide input by:
- Taking an (through May 12th at 5:00 pm).
- Making comments on an (through May 12th at 5:00 pm).
- Attending the Bicycle Master Plan Open House on April 23rd, 5:30-8:30 pm in the Whatcom Middle School auditorium, 810 Halleck Street. Interactive stations as well as a presentation at 6:30 pm will be included in the open house. For additional details, please see the .

Public participation is critical to shaping the city’s plan to improve bicycling and provide more support for “active,” city-wide modes of transportation. The Bellingham Bicycle Master Plan will take one year to complete and will identify a detailed strategy toward creating a safe, well-connected network of bicycle facilities and supportive programs to make bicycling a viable transportation choice for all ages and ability levels.
“The city looks forward to this opportunity to create a bicycle plan that reflects the needs of all members of our community,” said Ted Carlson, Public Works director.
