Employees may donate to Japan relief efforts via the Combined Fund Drive

State employees looking for a way to assist in the relief efforts in Japan can now donate via a set up on the . The site is equipped with news updates on the conditions in Japan, press releases that are locally pertinent, and instructions on the best ways to give.

Between now and April 18, Western Washington University faculty and staff have an opportunity to give via the Combined Fund Drive, either through an online, one-time deduction or via a paper contribution form.

Online, one-time deduction:

Employees may give a special, one-time deduction to the charity of their choice by signing in, selecting a charity and selecting the nearest payroll date. Those donating to the relief efforts in Japan should write "JAPAN RELIEF CAMPAIGN" in the program field.

Paper contribution form:

Employees also may give through a special . This form highlights the current charities that have been vetted and approved by the Washington Secretary of State Charities Division:

  • American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund (CFD# 1468727)
  • Americares (#0315518)
  • Mercy Corps International (#0316589)
  • Save the Children (#0315475)
  • World Vision (#0315561)

Those using this method should mail paper contribution forms directly to the Combined Fund Drive office or return it to Western鈥檚 CFD Campaign Leader, Sara Wilson, at MS9001 or Old Main Room 445 before April 18.
