Evening yoga class to be offered through Employee Wellness Program winter quarter

Among the new offerings for the Western Washington University Employee Wellness Program is an evening Iyengar-style Yoga class, taught by Nancy Metcalf.

The class, which costs $49 per quarter, will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday of winter quarter, beginning Jan. 5. Classes will be held in Carver Gymnasium gym A.

Yoga is an ancient art developed over three thousand years ago in the foothills of the Himalayas. The science of yoga has endured the ages and is today just as powerful of a practice to help people deal with their daily stresses and challenges in a more graceful and empowering way. Yoga affects a person's life on all levels in body, mind and spirit. It brings physical health and stamina, mental steadiness and poise, and spiritual awareness.

Nancy Metcalf is a Dynamic I Yoga Instructor who practices and highlights the Iyengar Yoga training.
