Faculty seminars, graduate student thesis seminars planned for fall quarter

Graduate student thesis seminars and faculty seminars from the Western Washington University Biology Department are planned throughout fall quarter.

Chandra Llewellyn, a graduate student in the Biology Department, will present a graduate thesis seminar title “Predicting Cyanobacteria Blooms in 50 Northwest Washington Lakes” at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, in Communications Building Room 420.

Ben Miner, an assistant professor in the  Biology Department, will present “Why are inducible defenses pervasive in nature?” at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, in Biology Building Room 234.

Eric DeChaine, an assistant professor, in the Biology Department, will present “Quaternary Biogeography of Arctic and Alpine Plants” at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, in Biology Building Room 234.

All of these presentations are free, and everyone is welcome to attend.
