Fall website construction and design class open to the public
Western Washington University will offer Web Design and Development Level I: HTML, CSS and JavaScript, a nine-week course beginning Oct. 1.
Information sessions will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28 at the Technology Development Center, located at 1000 F Street, and 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17 on Western’s campus, Academic West Room 203.
Participants will focus on HTML and CSS syntax to create simple multi-page websites, experiment with JavaScript to add dynamic functionality and utilize the JQuery library to add advanced features. By the end of the quarter, participants will have a firm grasp of the coding languages and the steps involved in developing and designing their own web pages, freeing them from the restrictions of web editors.
This course is ideal for people with a desire to design, develop or maintain websites for personal or professional use through its hybrid-learning option. The course consists of weekly face-to-face sessions and corresponding online resources and assignments.
