The Division of Business and Financial Affairs at Western Washington University has announced a reorganization plan for Financial Services.

The plan includes “flattening across the organization,” which involves eliminating administrative positions or moving supervisory positions to front line positions. When coupled with this summer’s administrative changes, this area will have flattened the organization by reducing the original 20 directors/managers/supervisors to 15. The plan also includes combining Student Financial Services and the Cashier’s Office to improve efficiency with regard to student account processes and cross training and to enhance the already good customer service.

As part of the reorganization, additional duties were added to certain positions, resulting in the following changes:

• Sally McKechnie – director, Business Services
• Teresa Mroczkiewicz – director, Financial Services
• Wanna VanCuren – director, Financial Systems

A search for an assistant vice president position is under way, and a committee has been appointed to assist with the search. .
