Flags to be at half-staff Aug. 16 in memory of Army sgt. killed in Afghanistan
Washington state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities should be lowered to half-staff Tuesday, Aug. 16, in memory of U.S. Army Sgt. Alexander J. Bennett of Tacoma, who died with 29 other service members Aug. 6 in Afghanistan of wounds suffered when the helicopter in which he was riding crashed.
Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business Tuesday or first thing Wednesday morning, Aug. 17.
Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
