Flags to be at half-staff June 1 in honor of Army sergeant
Governor Chris Gregoire has directed flags at all Washington state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff Wednesday, June 1, in memory of U. S. Army Sergeant Clifford E. Beattie, 37, of Medical Lake, who died May 22 of injuries sustained in Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business Wednesday or first thing Thursday morning, June 2.
Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
