Joseph E. Garcia, the Bowman Distinguished Professor of Leadership Studies at Western Washington University, presented the paper he co-wrote with Robert Marx, D. Anthony Butterfield and Jeffrey A. Kappen (U of Massachusetts-Amherst), at the annual meeting of the Academy of Management on Aug. 15, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas. The paper was titled “On the Folly of Rewarding (R)esearch While Also Needing (T)eaching.”
