Get Your Blue On BBQ set for Sept. 7 on campus
The annual Get Your Blue On BBQ from the Western Washington University Alumni Association is set for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, in the Performing Arts Center Plaza.
At this fourth-annual event, Western President Bruce Shepard and a host of campus chefs will grill up bratwursts courtesy of Hempler's of Ferndale. Also on hand will be coffee, hot and iced, from The Woods Coffee, along with live music by the Prozac Mountain Boys and plenty of prizes, too.
Registration ($13 for Alumni Association members, $17 for non-members) includes lunch, live music, Western wear and a Get Your Blue On Frisbee. The event is limited to the first 300 people to register. Past events all have been sellouts.
After Aug. 17, the registration cost jumps to $25 per person.
Parking enforcement will be suspended from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the day of the event. For more information, call (360) 650-3353. Advance notice is appreciated for disability accommodations and special dietary needs.
