Hard leads continue to be scarce in Dwight Clark disappearance case
Police and volunteers were unable to uncover any substantive leads during the weekend in the search for missing Western Washington University student Dwight Clark, according to a report from the Bellingham Police Department. The BPD has the lead on this case and is being assisted by the 草榴社区听University Police.
Clark was last seen on Sunday morning, Sept. 26, more than one week ago.
鈥淓fforts over the weekend included volunteer-led searches in locations throughout the city, follow up on tips and information provided by searchers and others, and use of the Bellingham Police mobile precinct to gather information from people downtown on both Friday and Saturday nights,鈥 Bellingham Police Chief Todd Ramsay said in a press release from the city of Bellingham.
A for anyone who provides information leading to Clark's discovery is now over $20,000.
Ramsay said that while the detectives will continue actively pursuing this case and following up on leads as they come in, they do not have additional scheduled volunteer search efforts planned at this time. The need for volunteers will be evaluated as the investigation continues, he said.
Clark has not been seen or heard from since about 2 a.m Sunday, Sept. 26. He was last seen walking from a friend鈥檚 house block away from his dorm room. Clark鈥檚 disappearance has generated a tremendous response from citizens both locally and statewide to help locate him. Despite volunteer search efforts and police investigation, no new leads have developed.
