Help welcome new students to Western Sept. 24
The Office of New Student Services/Family Outreach invites the campus community to help welcome new students at the conclusion of Welcoming Convocation Sept. 24.
As new students leave the Performing Arts Center after Welcoming Convocation, they'll be greeted by returning students, faculty, staff and other members of the Western community. The volunteers will form a human corridor and cheer on the new students as they make their way to Memory Walk.
New students will be asked to write on a slip of paper their hopes, dreams, goals or fears about their time at Western. The students may contribute the notes to the collection to be buried in the 2014 box in Memory Walk.
The evening will also include bagpipe music, refreshments and fireworks.
Those who would like to participate should meet in the Performing Arts Center Plaza at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 24.
