HERI Diversity Climate Survey Available Now

Western is partnering with the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA to conduct diversity climate surveys of our staff, faculty and students.  A link to the Staff Climate Survey was sent by the Higher Education Research Institute to staff email inboxes on April 4, and a second email was sent on April 10 to staff who have not yet completed the survey. Please check your Clutter folder in Outlook if you have not received emails from HERI in your inbox.

This anonymous survey is an important opportunity for staff to share their perspectives on Western’s diversity climate in a coordinated way that can inform decisions made by Western leadership.

Supervisors are encouraged to share the following information about the staff survey with employees who do not use computers at work.  For employees without regular access to a computer who wish to participate in the survey, computer terminals will be available as follows.

Humanities 242, Reserved for staff to complete the survey on:

Friday, April 7 from 1-3 p.m.

Monday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to noon

Facilities Management, the Viking Union and University Residences are making computers available for use by their employees at the Physical Plant, Viking Union, and Edens, respectively.  Employees should check with their supervisors about the locations of available computers in these areas.

All employees will need their current universal login to use the computer terminals and access the survey link in their Western email. If you need help, you can ask your supervisor for assistance.  ; employees can also call the ATUS Help Desk at x3333 or visit the Help Desk in Haggard Hall 123 for assistance with their universal login and accessing email.

The faculty survey was conducted Winter quarter and closed on March 22.  The student survey, called the Diverse Learning Environments Survey, will open later this month.
