HERI Staff Climate Survey Has Arrived
As President Randhawa announced in February, Western is partnering with the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA to conduct diversity climate surveys of our faculty, staff and students. The Staff Climate Survey was delivered to staff email in-boxes on Tuesday, April 4. Please check your Clutter folder in Outlook if you did not receive an email in your inbox from HERI on Tuesday. Supervisors are encouraged to share the following information about the staff survey with employees who do not use computers at work.
This survey is an important opportunity for staff to share their perspectives on Western’s diversity climate in a coordinated way that can inform decisions made by Western leadership. HERI will send employees a link to the survey at their Western email addresses. For employees without regular access to a computer who wish to participate in the survey, computer terminals will be available as follows.
Humanities 242, Reserved for staff to complete the survey on:
- Friday, April 7 from 1-3 p.m.
- Monday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to noon

All employees will need their current universal login to use the computer terminals and access the survey link in their Western email. If you need help, you can ask your supervisor for assistance. ; employees can also call the ATUS Help Desk at x3333 or visit the Help Desk in Haggard Hall 123 for assistance with their universal login and accessing email.
The faculty survey was conducted Winter quarter and closed on March 22. The student survey, called the Diverse Learning Environments Survey, will open later in April.
