Hsueh presents two papers at conferences in California, Canada

Vicki Hsueh, an associate professor in the political science department, was invited to present her paper “Civil Intoxications: Licensing Intemperance in Early Modern England” at “Alternative States: Cities, Companies, and Corporations in the Making of Global Britain, c. 1600-1800,” held at the Center of British Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, from May 31 to June 1.

Hsueh also presented “Cultivating “Sober” Judgments: The Politics of Excess and Emotions” at the Canadian Political Science Association in Victoria, B.C., from June 4 to 6.
