Interior work being done in Carver Dec. 18-22

In order to improve airflow through Carver, an air handler unit will be shut down for duct reconfiguration December 18 through December 22. The shutdown will affect the areas shown below and includes the central corridor, Parberry Fitness #105 and #167 on the ground floor; central corridor and areas west through rooms #271 on the second floor; and the central addition on the third floor. Some heat will also be impacted - primarily in the Suite #271 area.

Parberry Fitness #105 will be partially shut down because the ductwork runs through this space. The work area will be roped/marked off, however, athletes will be allowed to use the far side of the room away from the work space. Open hours for the week will be 9:00am - 2:00pm.

During this same period, less impactful work will take place. A trophy case will be installed in the east lobby and a beam requires painting in the #170 hallway area. The trophy case installation extends onto the second floor and is located outside the Athletics Department office (first floor) and coaches’ offices (second floor). The beam painting work requires scaffolding and will impact the stairs just north of #105 Parberry Fitness. The stair will be partially blocked but the adjacent ramp will remain open.

Unfortunately, this work must be done during this period. We are sending this notice now so you can make alternate plans if necessary.

If you have questions/concerns, please contact Sherrie Montgomery, project manager, at sherrie.montgomery@wwu.edu or (360) 650-6519.

This notice is being sent to select building occupants. Please pass on to your colleagues. Thank you.
