A little rest lots of work - blazing trails at Casa Grande Mountain Park

Trail blazing can be tough work. Toiling in the sun, moving 100-pound boulders and contending with irritable scorpions and the occasional wandering javelina poses its challenges, but for the Fire Four AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps team working to develop a system of trails in Casa Grande Mountain Park, the obstacles are part of the fun.

And knowing they are creating something that will be enjoyed by the community for years to come makes the job worthwhile, several team members said.

鈥淭hese trails will be here for hundreds of years,鈥 said Sarah Rosenbaum, a Fire Four AmeriCorps team member from Massachusetts. 鈥淭hat was one of the things that attracted us to this project.鈥
