He鈥檇 donned a new name 鈥 鈥淐rusty Goat鈥 鈥 and suffered through the scorching summer heat in Pennsylvania, self-forded the daunting Kennebec River to the later horror of his parents, and chased off a bear near Damascus with a series of percussive shovel swats against a tree, to name but a few of his adventures.
