Bellingham's Sabrina Romano becomes elite runner
Bellingham local Sabrina Romano was never a runner and she loves that her story starts that way.
When describing Romano before her sophomore year at Western Washington University, athlete might be a great word but it certainly didn’t apply to running laps around a track.
Romano couldn’t even run two laps around the track – or a ½ mile. Now, she can run 50 miles in less than 10 hours putting her in a select group of athletes – ultra-runners.
