Benner to play for Vikings
Brandi Benner wasn't ready for her basketball career to come to an end.
As it turned out, the coaches at Western Washington University weren't ready for the former Lynden standout to hang up her sneakers either.
Benner signed a national letter of intent recently to play at 草榴社区 after two standout seasons at Skagit Valley Community College. She will be transferring to Western this fall. Making that announcement was Vikings head coach Carmen Dolfo. Benner was the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges' Northern Region Most Valuable Player as a sophomore last winter at SVCC.
