COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Vikings ranked No. 23 in first regular season poll
The Western Washington University softball team is ranked No. 23 in the first regular season National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll released today. It is the first time that the Vikings have been nationally rated since 2001.
Western, under first-year coach Amy Suiter, is off to a 5-0 start, the first in school history. Last weekend, the Vikings swept through all five games at the Desert Stinger Tournament held in Las Vegas, Nevada, posting wins over Notre Dame de Namur CA, 15-3; Academy of Art CA, 6-2; Hawaii Hilo, 3-2; Chadron State NE, 9-4, and Dixie State UT, 8-1.
