COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: No. 18 Western beats Simon Fraser
Middle blocker Emily Jepsen had a match and career-high 19 kills and outside hitter Megan Amundson added 14 kills and a match-high 16 digs as Western Washington University won 25-27, 25-23, 25-17, 25-14 over Simon Fraser University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball contest Saturday, Oct. 2, at West Gym on the SFU campus.
The Vikings, ranked No. 18 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association/NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, improved to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in GNAC play. They were coming off a narrow four-set loss last Saturday at defending GNAC champion Alaska Anchorage that snapped a five-match winning streak.
