Donald Trump's dubious attack on U.S.-Canada trade

Most of the time, Canada isn鈥檛 the biggest target of ire for American politicians. But in a speech to governors on Feb. 26, President Donald Trump took aim at the country鈥檚 neighbors to the north, calling out the balance of trade between the two nations.

On trade, , "we lose a lot with Canada. People don't know it. Canada's very smooth. They have you believe that it's wonderful. And it is, for them. Not wonderful for us; it's wonderful for them."

"The president's statements are, at best, misguided, if not plain wrong," said Steven Globerman, director of the Center for International Business at Western Washington University.
