The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics inspired elementary school teacher Mark Johnson to become a coach for the first time in any sport.
Now the coach can dream perhaps of seeing one of the Lynden Speed Team's young inline skaters compete in a Summer Olympics.
"I married into the ownership of Lynden Skateway," Johnson said of his wife, the former Terri Van Ornum. "After the Winter Olympics in Vancouver (where speed skating on ice was among the most popular attractions), we received so many inquiries about skating, we decided to form the Lynden Speed Team."
