Hointer, which opened mid-November, is a boutique that primarily sells men’s high-end denim.

The boutique, located on Fourth Avenue Northeast and Northeast 45th Street, provides a unique shopping experience in that no human interaction is necessary. Customers need only download an application onto their smartphone, scan the tag of the item desired, select a size, and then go to the fitting room the app has reserved. Selections appear in the fitting room with the help of hidden robots. Additional sizes can also be retrieved with the app without leaving the room. Undesired items go in a chute. A final addition will be that each fitting room will have a tablet that customers can use to check out.
