The two-hospital John Muir Health system said Thursday it has named Calvin “Cal” Knight as its new president and chief executive officer, effective April 4.

Knight, currently president and chief operating officer at Seattle’s Swedish Health Services, will succeed longtime CEO Ken Anderson, who plans to retire March 31 after 36 years with the Walnut Creek-based nonprofit system, including the last 14 years as president and CEO.
