Lab hopes to help turn high-tech ideas into Bellingham businesses

Kemp first saw the issue of not enough high-tech jobs in this area while attending Western Washington University in the late 1990s. After graduation, he couldn't find work in this area and eventually moved to Seattle, working for Microsoft. His role at Microsoft included helping launch products, including Xbox. He wanted new challenges, though, so he began to look for a desirable community to live with his family and returned to Whatcom County in 2006.
