It’s been 28 years since Ann Gilbert competed in her first triathlon at Spring Meadow Lake State Park, and more than 35 triathlons later, she’s still going strong. The 55-year-old Helena resident will
compete in her sixth full Ironman triathlon Sunday in Nice, France. That’s a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run.
“I am definitely not that fast, but I can go for a long time,” said Gilbert, who will be competing in the event for the second time.
