Memorial Day is Monday, May 30, and honors those who died while serving in the U.S. Military.

If you are looking for local events to honor this national holiday, here are some of the Whatcom County events being held during Memorial Day weekend:

The Centennial Whatcom Memorial Day Parade will be held Saturday, May 28. The parade will start at noon at Alabama Street and Cornwall Avenue in Bellingham, travel along Cornwall Avenue, turn left on Champion Street, left on State Street, and end at York Street where the celebration will continue until 3 p.m.

Greenacres Memorial Park cemetery is holding its “Avenue of Flags” from May 28 through May 30.

Both Lynden Cemetery and Greenwood Cemetery will be lined with Veteran Memoriam flags on Monday, May 30.
