Nature is hot and cool at day camp

Sun bearing down, echinacea drooping, squirrels hiding, even the usually frenetic swallows are still.

It’s 104 degrees, and you know what? There are still happy campers.

Youngsters, ranging in age from 6 to 12, are learning about the great outdoors this summer by being ... outdoors from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m., five days a week. They’re partaking in Nature Day Camp at the Yakima Area Arboretum.
