Pastor Jens Sundem has a different way of leading the Little Brown Church
Warm fall sunlight peeked through the windows of the Little Brown Church.
A red whitewater kayak sat behind the pulpit, looking out of place propped on a table in the modest sanctuary. But the kayak was a symbol, the one sign in the church that this new pastor has a different way of doing things.
Like many of the people who find themselves transplants to Northwestern Montana Jens Sundem, pastor of the Little Brown Church in Bigfork, would rather be in the mountains or on a river than in his office. He gives congregation members his cell phone number and prefers to prepare his sermons in a coffee shop or on a park bench.
