Protests at CWU over president's bonus
Protests are planned this afternoon at Central Washington University in Ellensburg over a decision by the school's Board of Trustees to give President James Gaudino a $500,000 bonus.
Trustees voted earlier this month to approve what they're calling a :"retention incentive." Gaudino will collect the money, plus interest, if he stays at the school through 2016. Trustees are prohibited from giving Gaudino a raise because of an edict from the governor that university presidents are prohibited from getting pay hikes or bonuses during the current economic crisis.
