Success is a strange landscape for Ballard author
Success is really getting in the way of Urban Waite鈥檚 life plan.
After his debut novel, 鈥淭he Terror of Living,鈥 was published in February, Waite planned on returning to working odd jobs, scraping together enough time to write a handful of books and earn himself a position at a university.
That was before Stephen King praised 鈥淭he Terror of Living鈥 as 鈥渁 hell of a good novel鈥 and 鈥渁n auspicious debut,鈥 and author Tom Franklin compared it favorably to Cormac McCarthy鈥檚 classic 鈥淣o Country for Old Men.鈥
