Vickie Cordell drove up from Portland to look at sizable octopuses and a collection of jellyfish.
Truth is, that wasn’t the real reason she took part in the special Western Washington University two-day environmental science program.
“Time with her,” she said, pointing to granddaughter Katie Barry.
Katie, whose official age is “almost 11,” particularly liked the jellyfish, but said the main draw in attending was “to spend time with my grandma.”
