Top educator to retire after 41 years
Bill Lahmann’s office is filled with silly retirement cards, baseball caps and T-shirts. He even has a new set of golf clubs to break in. They are plastic toys, but golf clubs nonetheless.
During the past few months, students and employees in the 9,200-student Olympia School District have been showering Lahmann with retirement gifts, fun surprises and good-hearted pranks. One day, somebody wrapped his desk, chairs – even plant leaves – in aluminum foil.
