For her work leading the Marysville Soroptimists’ efforts to combat local human sex trafficking, Elaine Hanson was recognized as the City of Marysville’s May Volunteer of the Month during the May 13 City Council meeting.

Hanson became aware of the issue when she attended the Northwest Coalition Against Trafficking Conference in 2011 in Portland, which she described as a “shocking eye-opener.”
