Western student leaves Egypt amidst protests
On Thursday morning, Feb. 3, at the request of the Office of the Provost at Western, Reese bussed to the Cairo International Airport to board a flight to Frankfurt, Germany. The flight is one of many the U.S. State Department is sending to Egypt to help evacuate American citizens. Originally, Reese was to evacuate to Athens, Greece, but neither Dan nor his father were available at press time to explain why he was rerouted to Frankfurt.
Reese鈥檚 journey in Egypt began in January when Reese returned to Egypt for the fourth time in his life to accept a student teaching position at a high school in Cairo. Reese was teaching the French and American Revolution in his social studies class when the protests in Tunisia began.
