Western Washington University to cut $3 million more as state revenue declines
Western Washington University is looking to cut about another $3 million from the operating budget after state revenue projections show a growing deficit.
Gov. Chris Gregoire announced Thursday, Sept. 16, that the anticipated state deficit has grown to about $520 million through mid-2011, driven mostly by low tax collections. To help close the deficit, Gregoire is asking most state departments to cut about 6.3 percent of spending.
