Whatcom County honors veterans with various events
Noon to 1 p.m., Western Washington University, Viking Union Multipurpose Room. Western will host a Veterans Day ceremony, followed by a reception.
Featured speakers include ²ÝÁñÉçÇø President Bruce Shepard, student and ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Vet Corps Navigator Christopher Brown, ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Student Veterans’ Coordinator Jordan Linayao, and former ²ÝÁñÉçÇø employee Doris Kent, the mother of Cpl. Jonathan Santos, who was killed in 2004 while serving in Iraq. Vet Corps will hold a food drive starting Wednesday.
