Whatcom County leaders are planning a series of online “listening sessions” to address issues of systemic racism and police reforms raised in recent weeks at marches and rallies locally and across the nation.

Bellingham Mayor Seth Fleetwood outlined a plan for several community meetings focused on race, social justice and police at the City Council meeting Monday, July 6.

“I think we all appreciate and recognize that we’re in the midst of a momentous occasion,” Fleetwood told the council.
