WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Vikings keep rolling with another victory
Carver Gym was billed as "The Pink Zone" to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer, but junior Kristin Schramm and sophomore Corinn Waltrip were just grateful to have the green light to shoot at the time the four starting seniors at Western Washington University needed them most.
For the first time in her role as the "instant energy" provider, Schramm hit four consecutive 3-point shots in the first few minutes of a game. Waltrip made three in a row, including a pair of 3s, during a vital second-half surge just when it seemed the Vikings might be in a bit of trouble.
