Western Provost Brent Carbajal had called the order issued last week by Homeland Security “misguided and cruel,” especially during the uncertainty of the pandemic.

But he says in a statement posted  that the university is very pleased with the reversal and will continue to support its international students.

Governor Jay Inslee also applauded the administration’s move.
